Two storey extension to converted stables
The existing building is single storey, and the client
wanted an extension that would give them more lounge space, a study, and a
“WOW” factor.
We created a simple two storey height room extending into the
roof space, with a study area on an internal balcony. This was approved by
Planning with the comment that “The proposal is an elegant and contemporary
solution to the requirements of [the client], and the Planning Committee would
like to take this opportunity to congratulate the architect on the quality of
his design, and his skilful use of proportion and scale against the backdrop of
an existing building within this Conservation Area.”
